Memorial Day...

I have laced this post with links. Sometimes when "feeling" things, music has a way of transcending how we think and feel. At times, it's as if the artist has pulled our very own experiences out, and put them to song. It's bizarre. So this is what I have done here...

Today is the one year anniversary of the day I found myself standing in Lewistown, MT. A day when nothing in my head made sense, nothing in my life was making sense. I had just driven 14 hours after an hour of sleep trying to find reason in the events that set me on this course of action.

A break up from my best friend of had me moved out of my house and basically homeless. With a bunch of cash in my pocket, I just drove... East... I went home...Central Montana.

I wish I had something here for hell frozen over, but can't think of anything at the moment. Everyone talks about how beautiful it is and all that, but...just try living there and trying to succumb to their way of living. It's still about 1989 back there, but they have smart phones...It's a different place...and its surrounded by nuclear warheads...It seems all anyone can do around there to try and stay sane is drink like a fish.

So that's what I did. After 14 hours on the road when nothing in my world made any sense. They tell us in AA that there aren't an good reasons to drink. But I tell you what, when you are sober 2 years and nothing makes sense, you look at a drink, think to yourself, "...that doesn't make sense either..."

Nothing else was making sense, fuck it. After what .I had just went through: I needed a drink. And then a month or so later, maybe less. I would have to guess the numbers at 99% of all my worldly belongings ended up in a landfill somewhere... I was in Central Montana, with quite literally the clothes on my back and not much else...

I spent a lot of time mulling over the way I would handle the next time I would see this person, what I would say, or if she even deserved the slightest iota of my attention. When the time came that I was going to see her, I chose not to. At the time I really only had 2 words to say to her. The last word being "you".

After spending days and months searching for answers, and not getting anything. Then I thought, why not "Google it!"

So what am I dealing with a year ago today? Girls. Love. Apparently the top search on the internet for what girls love is a song by Drake, Girls Love Beyonce. I once heard D.R.A.K.E. stated as Do Right And Kill Everything.

And that's exactly what happened. So here I am, a year later, and still have 2 words to say to her, and the last one is still "you".

Thank You.

There I was. Day one of a relapse. Shots. Shots. Shots, and more shots. And it was like that all summer long. It was fun for a while. But I am an alcoholic. It doesn't take long for it to get to a dark place. Like a night of double patron shots, and not really caring if I lived or died in between where I left and where I ended up...

The summer slowly faded into fall, which in Montana, is basically winter. I had ventured to and from Washington 3 or 4 different times trying to find that energy that I had before my relapse started happening. I was falling fast. The depression that I cope with had began to become increasingly unbearable. Everyday seemed to be worse than the one prior.

My drinking affected my relationships with people I care about, and some I don't really care about. The consensus is that I am a douche bag. The way I behaved most of the time I was drunk, well...I would have to agree. As a matter of fact, the "me" that writes this right now would tell you to runaway as fast as you can!!

At work I would snap at people. The way I treated people in social situations... I'm not even sure I can go back and make a proper amends to some people because the douche-ary happened so often that it kind of became just who I was. And that's how people saw me. I'm sure that's how they treated me too, but I was too busy being a dick to even notice, or care.

I was never going to fit in "properly" in this place if all I could do was drink to stay sane and ruin all of my relationships. Being in AA and sober for all those years made it real easy to see that if I kept doing what I was doing "an end" of sorts was in my future.

What kind of end? It's hard to say...but with as dark and deep as my depression had been going, I knew which "end" I was in store for if I didn't stop drinking...But I couldn't. I didn't want drink to a lot of times, but I did anyway... Just to forget...Forget about the last year of my life...forget about my house that I lost...forget about my back injury that resulted in a 10 year career down the drain...forget about it all...Just about lost all hope in everything. I felt lost at sea. Waves throwing me around...not knowing, or really caring where I would land.

...and then I met someone.

I met a young lady...

And if this is going right, you should be listening to Mr. Probz, Waves. This song was all over the radio a couple months before I left Montana, and epitomizes what I was feeling, thinking, going through during this period in my life.

Yes, then I met a young lady. Who, in the end, probably saved my life, and helped me recognize the part of me that was dead/dying. Helped me to recognize a part of me that had been broken, or at least dislodged for so long. A part of myself I missed.

But remember, I am going through some serious self-destruction in my life right now...I am only looking out for me and my interests.

Where I worked would have us paired with another coworker from time to time when some of the projects required another set of hands...The time I spent with her during one 8 hour shift transcended any casual experience I've had with another human being before, and after. I sat through breaks and lunches wondering how this young lady was so amazingly inquisitive about some of the most important questions human kind should be asking.

It's what is referred to as "being awake" or "waking up"(think The Matrix).

It was like I knew her from another time and place...on some other plane I was her king, she was my queen, we were royalty. As if we had met 2,000 years ago... Something along the lines...all possible outcomes are possible... parapsychology.(this isn't the post for all of what that can entail, but it will be coming soon).

Baffled by this experience, and needing answers...I googled it. "Lord, I need a pure heroine."

I think this song encompasses how someone might feel growing up their whole lives in a place like Lewistown, MT...A person like the young lady who seems to have me spellbound. You just wanna break them out and show them the world...(lol, think The Matrix)

Needless to say I handled the situation in the exact opposite way a guy should treat a girl that he's interested in and wants to get to know, yeah I blew it alright, and in more ways than one. But that's okay because had anything that could have transpired during that period  ever have come about, it would all be gone now anyway.

Because trust me, no amount of how much I think a girl, relationship, piece of ass, or just a cuddle buddy will keep me sober: it won't. And no amount of a pure heroine is going to want any part of my drunk ass. Right?;) "_________"

"How should a girl be treated," you might ask.

I wrote quite a few posts about the ins and outs of it all about 6 months ago, but really, it goes deeper than the complete physical. Which can lead to a spiritual bond, but gets messy and the(sexual) energy gets displaced and misused. Creating black hole that tends to chew up your insides, all the while using things to fill that void. For me, I turned to alcohol, and later sex to fill those voids.

Yes, "sex" can be used to try and fill the void created by "sex". See the vicious circle?

So how should have I better handled my last experience, and how will I handle any similar circumstances in the future? How we all should be treated...With TLC, baby!

There I am, spiraling out of control more and more by each passing week. Work became nearly unbearable. Spending between 8-10 hours basically stuck in my head, with waves of suicidal thoughts popping up every few hours or so. I never went so far as to actually plan anything out, but all I knew is that I was tired of existing, I felt as everyone around me didn't want me to exist anymore either. The negative energy became overwhelming...It was all my doing.

Then one evening as I was assembling a three inch heater a coworker must have noticed something about me was off, and probably noticed for sometime, but finally decided to come and check on me back in the corner they kept me in.

The conversation led to talking about my grandfather who has a heart condition that doesn't have him being here much longer. She knew I wasn't really happy being in Montana, but probably didn't know how much of an impact on me as she had on me leaving...

She wasn't aware of his exact condition, but said something along the lines that, he wouldn't want me just hanging out in Montana waiting for him to pass on...sure he appreciates me being there, and coming around from time to time, and making sure my Uncle hasn't drank himself to death, yet.

I had to live my life.

I thought about that very seriously...She was absolutely right. He's a stubborn old Irishman. I know exactly what he'd tell me, as much as I know I'm what I'd tell myself...

The Universe has a funny way of sometimes acting/reacting really slow, or unreasonably fast!

My last night in Montana... I was on one for sure...There's always a bottom and mine was coming fast.

I proceeded to get my check cashed earlier in the evening before heading over to the tavern where my uncle hung out, and got drunk most every night of the week. I figured I would run into him.

Sure enough I did. He, his new girlfriend, the other bar tenders, and eventually, the owner of the bar showed up after their company Christmas party. It was a good time to start, or at least it seemed. Although, my uncle was behaving awkwardly. Probably because normally, he's a loud mouth Irishman taking shots with the next guy, but this night he seemed to be trying to behave in front of his new girlfriend. Which is understandable. No harm no foul.

Unfortunately, I didn't really have this awareness when I was buying the shots and drinks for everyone. After being introduced the new girlfriend, she shakes my hand, says to me, "you're not like him are you?" I say in kind of a "thanks for noticing" tone, "No, I'm not."

I proceeded to buy a round of drinks for everyone, and after what felt like pulling teeth, the group got my uncles girl friend to try some weird mixed drink the ladies were drinking that night.

As I got set to step outside to have a cigarette, my uncle girl friend made a comment about how my hooded sweat shirt made me look gay...whatever, right? Right.

So I'm outside having a cigarette, trying to text a guy about some weed, and one of my uncles "friends" who is also a bartender comes outside and tells me to stop hitting on my uncles new girlfriend...

Wait...What...?

"Fuck off!" That's exactly what I told her. Why? Because the only discussion and interaction I had with my uncles girlfriend was an introduction with a hand shake, that everyone seemed to be watching, and the time she told me I looked gay...

Yeah, I wanna hit on  my uncles girlfriend who thinks I'm gay...WTF?! That's me everyone! Got me figured out...

I relatively pissed off the "friend" of my uncle with the f-off comment. She proceeded to "Blah, blah, blah,..." And then I posed a question from out left field about why invite me over for Christmas, in which the whole time I felt the life being sucked out of me because no one really wanted me there...I played along with all their little traditions, but couldn't help but shake the feeling nobody wanted me there... sure enough...nobody wanted me there...I would have rather sat at home and stared at the walls or slept, or anything else than be somewhere where I'm not wanted...

Nobody likes to be called on their shit, especially drunk bar tenders.

I went back to chatting with the weed guy, and buy the time got done she had gone back inside, lord only knows what she said, but I was politely escorted out of the tavern...with my arm behind my back...by the owner...

Super classy.

That was January 24th, 2014. I woke up January 25th with 3 words coming from the inside of my head, "Tomorrow never comes..." And in a flash the conversation I had with my friend, and coworker and living MY life for ME...Tomorrow never comes.

At that moment I knew exactly what I needed to do.

I think I've had enough,(I had to get out of that place) I might get a little drunk(it happened that night), I say what's on my mind(yup). I might do a little time(because I'm going to beat my uncles ass on the spot if he's going to take some chicks side on some drama that isn't even real, that got me escorted out of the bar).'Cause all of my kindness is taken for weakness(bought drinks for these assholes...) Now, I'm 4, 5 seconds from wil'in'(thank god he wasn't there when I woke up the next morning, because I probably would have needed bail), and we got 3 more days til Friday, I'm just trying to make it back home by Monday morning(I made it back to Mount Vernon around 2 am, Monday), and I swear I wish someone will tell me, that's all I want(I would love to hear the ridiculousness surrounding why I left that thin little town, because it was more than 1 little thing like pissing off some bar tender). .

Woke up an optimist(I knew I was doing the right thing, and was going to make "it" happen no matter what), the sun was shining, I'm positive(It was 65 degrees in January the day I left, -25 the week before). Then I heard you was talking trash(no shit?), hold me back, I'm about to spaz'. Yeah, I'm about 4 5 seconds from wil'in'...

....and i know that you are home tonight thinking how could i be so selfish(I left on my mother's birthday), but you cop out 1000 times wondering where I've been(...), now I know that you're home tonight thinking how could I be so reckless(I had $100 in my pocket, no real plan, and no where really to go, and nobody knew I was coming, my phone expired the night before hand, and had no way to get a hold of anyone), but I just can't apologize. I hope you can understand.(Mom)

If I go to jail tonight, promise you'll pay my bail?(Ben?Mom?)
See, they wanna buy my pride, but that just ain't up for sale!(I am not the guy, or even the person these people, through their own drunken haze that they quite literally spend their lives in, perceive me to be...I'm not one of them, but what I am is...family)

See all of my kindness is taken for weakness...

This song was released January 24th, 2015, and began being played January 25th. I hadn't heard it until I was on the road home to Mount Vernon after my last night in Montana. I don't think there is a more perfect song that could have expressed EXACTLY how I was feeling and what I was going through.

It was after about a 14 hour trip that I had finally reached the freeway exit I had grown to know so well over the years. Here I was. Had smoked my last cigarette about 30 minutes before hand and decided I should go buy another pack, and then start figuring out what I am going to do for food, housing, job...all that stuff we require in order to survive in society.

I pulled in the the McDonalds/Chevron next to the college, as I began walking into the store I noticed an old friend from AA. I saw him, and hoped that he hadn't seen me. I wasn't in the mood for chatting or small talk. I was tired, and had a lot on my plate after a 14 hour drive, at 2 am, with no place to live, and no place to go.

"Hey, Jason," he says to me as we both approach the door to the store."Shit!" I think to myself. "He recognized me!" I've always liked the guy and under any other circumstance I probably would have sat there and gladly caught up on how we have been doing, but at this moment, I really didn't want to.

Or so I thought. Within 5 minutes he had offered me a job driving taxi for him, as he had just purchased the business not more than 6 months prior, and was recruiting drivers.

Within 5 minutes of me being back here I already had a job...I think something was telling me I was back on the right track. I tracked down the friend that said that if I were to ever come back I could stay with her if I needed to...

"Oh, you were serious," she says when I show up unannounced. I stayed on her couch for a few days while finding my bearings. I began running errands with the owner of the company for some extra cash while waiting for the city to approve my taxi license and found myself with a bunch of busted belts flying out of my truck one afternoon.

Fortunately, I found myself a few exits away from a girl I used to see that was handy with working on automobiles. I walked to her house, left a note about my situation. Within a few days we had my truck back on the road and running again. She also offered me a place to crash for a period of time while I got on my feet.

Drinking every night. Every morning. When I would wake up. As soon as I got off work. Sometimes sooner. It was fine. She drank too! Other people I was hanging out with at the time were drinking pretty regularly, and at about the same rate I was. It was perfect! I was out of the state that seemed to cause me so much misery, I had weed, I had booze, the party was still rolling...Or so I thought.

I began to cut way back on my drinking, mainly because I had run out of money, but part of me had been wanting to quit so bad that I was grateful that I didn't have any money. That way I had an excuse NOT to buy alcohol...I couldn't afford it. What a way to live, right?

So when the money I did have dried up, and it no longer seemed beneficial for me to be there. The girl with whom I was staying insinuated that I "do a little more around the house" to "earn my keep." Not like I should do chores or anything like that. I picked up after myself pretty well while I was staying there, but that I should do "more"... Get it? She wanted me to sleep with her for compensation for rent. And that if I wasn't going to be doing that, that I should consider standing next to the freeway and ask for money...

Wow.

The day before I had made this little thing. I had hit my bottom. As I was making this I was having what we alcoholics refer to as a moment of clarity. My depression had gotten so bad that I felt as if any moment,  I would find the balls to go through with it and just kill myself...I didn't see any way out. I had lost all hope. I was hopeless.

So that's how this little thing came to be on the last day I had a drink. I had decided to make a list of things that I wanted. Things that I knew would make the depression go away. If I had these things there would be no way it could find its way back in...

As the page began to fill, and the words began to take form from the graphite and sketch pad that was provided, a sense of calm came over me. It was these words. After spending the time tracing each letter over and over, making sure it was dark enough.

You gotta' love the subconscious.

I know the definitions of these words as easily as I breathe. They're simple words. The constant repeating of the writing and thinking of the words started to resonate within me.The word "Hope"...a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. At the time I didn't really know what having hope was, or even what it truly meant.

After a period of time I started to feel...amazing. I was still basically at the point of being at my lowest low I have ever felt. But I had something. All of a sudden it turned into real Hope. And for the slightest moment, a glint in my psyche, it brought me "Happiness"...

Following that was "Success"...

These things started to ring true inside of me. If it was as simple as writing it on a piece of paper and tracing over it, again, and again I would do it all day long, all night long. As long as the feelings I was feeling subsided, I would do it.

I guess the genie gave me a wish, and the wish flourished.

"If you could have one thing at this moment in your life, write it on a piece of paper..." Hope. Desiring and expecting a certain thing to happen. That was the thing in itself that happened. It spiked a sense of Happiness, and that, my friends, equals Success. The rest just started pouring out. Different sizes. Different lettering. All repeated over, and over. I would begin looking around at these words, all the while my brain processing their meanings, even able to place some of them in sequences with each other for deeper meanings. You can see how I was basically tricking my brain out of the negative thinking that is engine that drives a lot of the depression.

It may not be the cure for what I go through, or it may be. I don't know, but it worked enough. It worked enough for me to continue that perpetual model for success in everything that I am doing in my life today. It continues to blow my mind the areas in my life that keep opening up and expanding. At times it can be overwhelming to think about, so I try to stay focused on the now.

But I can honestly say that looking back on this last year...I was supposed to do exactly everything thing I did, in the manner that I did them to get to this place... this place of peace within myself. I think I am gaining a better perspective on "coming home" now that I am back where I am supposed to be. I don't really mean geographically. It's mostly spiritual.

I would like to send a final Thank You, and a debt of gratitude, and maybe in the next 2,000 years I'll do a better job!:) Because as I sit here, finishing this up,
I look at a cardboard box that has carried some of things that I cherish most, things that have touched my mind, body, and soul throughout my life. From a time before this whole thing had started your name was always there...Thank you.

I mentioned earlier about a young lady that probably saved my life...

"It was the recognition of something that she brought out in me that allowed me to understand the person I am still supposed to be..." I may be slightly stoopid, but that's some real shit.

The Law of Attraction, Sex, Love, and Meditation...

This may be the most in depth post I've written and, hopefully,  once it's completed we can all look back on it and see how it all ties together...

This originally started with me taking this blog in a different direction by using a voice recorded media to differentiate my blog from the next...

Either way, the topic that I decided to cover was something I had never written about.

It was sex. Raw. Natural...ish...

From there... I went places I probably shouldn't have publicly, but... whatever.

I touched on compatibility might actually play a part when taking sex to that next level...and that's where I'm going to take this now, considering how I'm going to tie everything together...

It will get explicit again... Soon, so if you don't want to read any further you probably shouldn't...

So... The Law of Attraction... Like attracts like. Think of a magnet... You're a magnet. I'm a magnet...A magnet is always... always...always using the force of attraction.

You are attracting the things around you... to you... If that makes sense...A little more finite, the law of attraction states that by that principle alone you can attract anything you want into your life...but...

But. There's an energy involved. You can't (necessarily) snap your fingers and magically "create" a new reality.

I'll explain my experience, which I think I've done on this blog before, but for the sake of this particular thread, I'll do it again...

Love is the most powerful force that there is.

It is only with an abundance of love in your thoughts... feelings(ewww)...your "being", that you'll experience how it works...

For me it was a blue car...I'll explain.

After doing about 15-20 minutes of meditating on the things I was grateful for, I asked "the universe" to let me see a blue car outside of my window. The first vehicle that drove by was a white van. The second was a red truck... But the first CAR that passed by was actually a blue mid sized sedan...and so it started.

I started practicing the system. (Stay positive at least 51% of your day) That number tips the scales in your favor. It's safe to say you only want to have positive things coming into your life...

Then I started digging a little deeper into this philosophy... To me it sounded a lot like praying... Except praying they tell you not to pray for yourself, but to pray for others...

So I basically pray for the things I want with the power of love at my finger tips...??And create however I want my life to be by doing so??

There's a way to amplify it too. Guess how you amplify love?;) Yes.

Through sex.

More specifically: through orgasm.

I'm not saying you need to be having an orgasm for this to work, I'm just saying that you can amplify the energy used for the purposes of using the law of attraction to your benefit...

Actually, the most optimal times to practice the LOA(Law of Attraction) are 90 minutes before you go to sleep, and 90 minutes after you wake up... It's hard to say what the brain is capable of at lower wave lengths when meditating and programming your mind... I'll explain..

Ninety minutes before you go to bed allows your brain to slow and enter different "states." As you first lay down to go to bed at night, you're probably already in an Alpha wave length state. As you drift further into sleep you'll enter a Theta state, and after Theta is Delta...

Alpha and Theta are where most of your visualizing should be taking place...(praying?)

The 90 minutes after you wake up works the same, but in reverse...You'll come out of Delta, through Theta, and as you wake, you'll be entering Alpha...and after your first few cups of coffee you'll probably be in Gamma...Gamma can be useful when learning, but for the purposes of meditation, alpha, theta, and delta are the main focus points.

Using either a pure tone, or guided meditation with a 432 hz(which is in the theta range) before bed/while you fall asleep, will help you to see pretty strong results in your life within weeks of applying it in your life...

The reason sex plays such a vital role in this process is when you have two people focusing on a common outcome it doesn't just double the output... It increases it exponentially.

That's why earlier on in this thread I mentioned the importance of not treating sex lightly... It carries powers we don't fully understand, and can't quite grasp...

I think I'm going to wrap this up now by saying a few things...

Over the course of writing all this I've had to look at a lot of stuff on my end of things...I'm not a perfect person. But from the first to the last person I've had the pleasure of getting to know intimately; they are all special... Some crazier than others... Some just not the right fit...Some fit too well...Some I've fucked over...but we all played a part in each others lives at some point...

And I'm pretty sure I loved you all, even if you didn't know it...

Humans and Love...

"We are necessary for each other..."

Explicit Experiences...

I once met a chick that... Well... Wanted me to rape her, basically ... Couldn't do it... Rape fantasy just doesn't do it for me... Don't get me wrong... This chicks body was bangin'...head in most of the right places...a little bit far left of center...

But if you tell me to fuck you cause you want to moan, and then punch and kick  through it all... Well then you're just a fuck... Even if it only lasts a minute... Because what I do, I do as a lover would do... and if you can't handle that, then you have a lot of maturing and growing up to do... and might need a shrink.

I had one chick who used to like me to come in at about 4-5am and fuck her brains out before she went to work... I was cool with it because I was up all night anyways... She burned all my worldly belongings...except my music...

I was this one girls "dirty little secret" for some time... I would make her come by making her think I was coming... Eventually she told me to stop doing that...she works in a dentists office...

I met one girl online, who later I found out happened to be married at the time we were having sex... Told me she couldn't have kids due to some early childhood cancer...couldn't have been over five foot...she liked to be choked...well... aggressively grasped around her neck during intercourse... Not before... During...She has a baby now, and I think is divorced... we're still fbf''s...

I've been with 2 women...not at the same time... that could only climax through anal intercourse...guys... I'm not complaining... well, sorta... one made me (explicit) her for hours before we got that far...she ended up cheating on me...

This young bartender asked me why we don't have "regular sex"... She was probably the purest lover I can remember... she once told me she thought we were soul mates... I believed her... Then she didn't talk to me for a couple years... Lol... That's how the young ones roll...

Had this one girl who'd use ME for sex... She'd drop by unexpectedly for about an hour (or visa versa), use me up and be on her way...She was one that got away. She had 3 boys by the time she was 25 I think... I wasn't ready for that kind of commitment... She's got a baby girl now and is happy..

I could go on, but honestly, I'm sick of "relationships" like this. Over the years it has taken its toll on me...

I want something substantial... Something I can be proud of. Married and kids? Sure, why not? It might be too late for me, as I see most all my friends and acquaintances that are my age who have already started their little families, and are happy... I watch them with envy...

Friends...

Taking a left turn with this current thread...

Friends...

As defined by my smart phone's dictionary, "A person whom one knows and with when one has a bond of mutual affection, typically exclusive of sexual or family relations..."

So...that's interesting. Never thought to look up what it meant to be a friend, but alas...there it is.

I'm not sure when I came to test my friends. But at some point you can only have your heart broken so many times before you start building defense mechanisms...You hear it as "putting up walls."

Heartbreak is the other side of love I tried not to bring into the last thing I wrote, but it's a fact. That's the gamble...the risk. You risk heartbreak.

With that being said, you could call me a compulsive gambler. I've taken chances when the odds were stacked against me, and lost.

But if you don't go for it, you never know, right?;) You can't win if you don't play...

And if you're gonna play, make sure your toys are cooler than the next kids...right?

I'd say or do things. Subtle things. Some not so subtle. And if they come back to me...usually subtly, sometimes not so subtle...:)

Well, then you know...

Like the definition states:"...typically exclusive of sexual or family relations..."

You have to be careful who you let in as a friend...from my own experiences friendships tend to go sour after sex gets involved, that's not to say everyone can't still be adults about it, either...just sayin.

That's where the risk for me has come...with friends.

That's where tattoos come from...:)

An experience with death...

It was the period of time when my grandma passed...My dad's mom. I was faced with someone close to me who had been part of my like for quite some time in the process of...I'll call it passing on...

I call it this because of my beliefs, and hope that it becomes clear as I tell this story....

Her and my grandfather had been staying with my dad and his girlfriend of ten plus years, and her 16 year old daughter for sometime while she fought and eventually lost to cancer.

Eventually my "step mom" ...my dad's girlfriend couldn't take it anymore.  She walked out; moved out a short time before my grandma passed...I get it... I understand why she did. I'm not sure I could have expected so much of someone at that moment in time. Trying to raise a 16 year old daughter. Working 12-16 hours a day seven days on, one off,and then six on, come home, and seemingly have to take care of my grandmother, my dad, my grandpa, her daughter as well as herself! She couldn't keep doing it.

My dad called in the entire family...one of six other brothers, sisters, and their families  didn't show up.  His older brother didn't make it and I guess nobody expected him to, and nobody talks about it... At least not in front of me.

As the family waited for the youngest of seven to get there...there was time for me to be with, and around my dying grandmother...

Before her heart stopped beating she was already gone. Laying there in that bed was not her.

Now mind you, her religion kind of contradicts what happened...

I sat at the kitchen table at my dad's house. In front of me  I wrote questions and answers from her. I left it sit there for...what could be a few hours. Let the family see it. Came back to it and threw it away.

I'm not exactly sure  how long it was before she passed after all who were  going to be there were there. But when I got back to work a short time later I was conflicted...

I remember sitting on the bench in front of our break room at work...having a cigarette. The piping above where I was there was a crow.
I didn't think anything  of the crow or the white feather that happened in the air because we have seagulls that shit all over our cars at my work. It happened again the following day.., break, cigarette, crow, white feather.
So I grabbed the feather on the second day, took it home, and asked my girlfriends mom about what she knew regarding Native American religious beliefs involving animals. I asked her this as she's kind of a hippie in a way... Grown up hippie??? Anyway, she brings me back this book. Animal Medicine, or something along those lines. I open the book, and two pages in, is a printed drawing of a feather.

So I looked on what it said about the crow.

When I looked up what the crow said, it stated something along the lines of being able to see both this plane of existence and another.

It's what I needed to read. I'll tell you why...

My grandmother and I had different ideas concerning what happens when you die. I'm kind of the black sheep of the family. Either me or my uncle Shane, who's a month younger than me, who hasn't talked to his dad in years from what I understand...He stopped going to their religion(Jehovah's Witnesses).

I know she's somewhere different. I know that she didn't just cease to exist in this vast universe. She's still around. I once saw her in a dream... It was one of the most memorable things I have...A dream. She was washing dishes at the house she lived in in Montana. I was looking down on her from above. She looked up at me and smiled. I had never seen my grandma that happy. It's as if that smile weren't hers. It was so bright.

I try not to push my beliefs (too hard)(twss), but whatever nirvana, what ever deep love that you have in your being; exists those that we lose. We can't touch them or feel them always, but we can find comfort in their presence. In memories or dream.

Ps.
**I eventually got myself to a chiropractor to get treated for my headaches as per my grandmothers request. I'm happy to say that this year I have yet to have a cycle of headaches that haven been quoted as being as severe as natural child labor/birth. Three to four times a day. For up to six weeks(for me). This has been the first year without them in 13 years.

**Quitting smoking is a battle. It has been a challenging road. It is said to be harder to kick than heroin... Either way, the best way to quit is to just do it and don't look back.

Namaste.

Seeing is believing...

So... It's time to circle the wagons and try to get a little more in depth on the things that I've been doing... why I've been doing them.

Recently chatted with a friend on Facebook about leaving the place where I live. I told her I had already left when she asked if I was leaving, and that all I had to do was catch up to myself...

Sounds kinda funny, right? Kinda crazy, maybe? Definitely.

It all started about about two years ago, right before/during my relapse(although I don't really think it was full blown until I started drinking again six months later, but that's besides the point). I had just stopped seeing this girl and was doing the "still checking their Facebook" phase. I read a comment someone made about the movie, "The Secret." It was kind of a mocking comment about the movie, kind of a "do you believe this shit?!" kind of comment. I was unfamiliar with the movie. So I Googled it. I wanted to know what the big deal was.

After doing a fair amount of research on what it was, going to the website, and reading comments that others had said about this movie. How it had changed their lives. I thought,"oh great, here we go..." The comments were coming from a Christian based forum I believe. Although anything that's starts to "Praise Jesus!" for anything I usually turn and run the other way. I probably would have but I was still intrigued. I mean who wouldn't be really... I mean come on... There's a Secret and everyone's talking about it. Couldn't be that big of a secret if everyone was talking about it... And how come I hadn't heard the Secret if indeed everyone WAS talking about it? I had to know.

I was able to find the movie on Netflix, so I watched it. And guess what? It changed my life too! The movie is kind of a documentary. I won't get into everything the movie talked about. The main thing the movie told me was this: You can manifest whatever you want with your thoughts.

Of course I was skeptical. Who wouldn't be? But they had quantum physicists explaining some of this stuff. Doctors, Ph.d's... These people did not seem to be crack pots.

Then they started talking about love. Love and the vibrational frequencies you put out when experiencing that feeling. And that in order to manifest the things you want, by plainly visualizing them, you needed to feel THAT feeling. Truly in any degree... Towards your mom, dad, pet, child, as long as you were in that mind set... that "place" feeling it, you can transfer those vibrations to the things you wanted to manifest.

"Ok," I thought, after watching this movie,"I'm going to give this a shot!" So I sat in my chair at my kitchen table. I started thinking about all the things I was grateful for. Started thinking about my mother, and it was about two or three minutes into this meditation that I told myself... told the universe that I wanted the next car that drove past my house to be a blue car. About 5 seconds later I could hear a vehicle coming up the highway...It was a white van...Almost discouraged I thought, "No! I asked for a blue CAR" This was a VAN." And within seconds I heard another vehicle approaching along the highway...A red truck! I smiled, maybe even laughed... "Still haven't seen a CAR!"
Needless to say the next vehicle that passed was a blue car. I'll never forget that day. I was sold on the power of the mind. It made me believe.

Sure, it may have been a coincidence. But maybe it wasn't. There is really no telling. And that's how this thing "The Secret" works. You gotta be positive, and you gotta have love...more than 50%, and it works... Things won't just materialize right in front of your eyes, although that is not out of the realm of possibility. The universe has a time delay. It works in "mysterious ways"...but it works.

Over the last two years or so, I have never stopped believing, and never stopped using The Secret. And it has always worked. Just follow the principles. Even up until TODAY the power of The Secret is with me. The goals that I have set for myself and the way I am going to do it takes time to materialize.

I mentioned that even up until today I still practice The Secret, and even as of today it works. I will leave you tonight with this:

For the past couple weeks I have been opening the blinds on the window next to my desk at work and saying, "Ahh, the beach..." Instead of the giant cement wall that is outside of my window I visualize a beach, something tropical... This is just a small part of what I have been doing to bring the reality of my goals closer to me. (Those that follow me on Facebook may now have a little bit of a clue as to why I am posting some of those pictures;)) And I believe that by doing that, the universe brings that reality closer. Pushing it out of my thoughts into the here and now... It works in mysterious ways...just gotta keep visualizing...and it will happen;)

This is what showed up outside my window today...

Something new

I may not win this time, or even next time, but when I do win it will make up for the times that I didn't.... Every time. ~Jason Murphy

In retrospect...

Just sitting here enjoying what I believe to be called serenity, as I am not totally comfortable here since this feeling has never stuck around long enough for me to get to know it well enough. It comes and goes just to let me know that it is out there and does exist; not far off.

With the new year getting ready to ramp back up for more exciting new things, I can't help but look to the past year to see how far I've come. For me it's almost mind blowing.

A year ago today I was still recovering from a bout of pneumonia that nearly killed me. A stress induced sickness from the decisions I made to start smoking pot again, which had me at risk of losing my job, my house... everything material at that point. The physical loses I am still trying to recover from to this day. I was in great shape before I got sick. One hundred and eighty pounds of great shape. Over the course of the pneumonia,(before it was diagnosed/treated-about three weeks, maybe longer, hard to tell), I watched the weight just fall off of me day after day. When I ate I couldn't keep food down due to the coughing. When I finally went in to the doctor I weighed about 141 pounds... I eventually lost a few more pounds after that, but was afraid to get on the scale. I probably got down to 135. That's 45 pounds for anyone trying to keep up. Today a year later I've made it to a pretty sexy 162, which has been hard to do. At my age my body doesn't build muscle like it did when I was in my early to mid 20's, but thank God it still burns calories the same.

Not sure which is more important at this point: my house or my job. Well, I almost lost both. I no longer smoke pot. It's just not worth the risk, and will have one year away from drugs and alcohol in a couple months. It was that choice to think that I could do both in the beginning that really set precedence for my downward spiral towards a rock bottom. With relationships in peril, job hanging in the balance, and house and car going into foreclosure, I was getting ready to set sail to an island. Turn my back on everything and just start over. This was a very real thing for me. I started selling all my things. Was just trying to come up with enough money for a plane ticket. Something happened though. I think the weight of losing the house that I grew up in and having owed a friend a substantial amount of money kept me here.

So I opted to return to work, as at this point I was voluntarily on a lay off. Didn't have a lot of trust from management when I returned. A few of my responsibilities had been handed over to other employees, and my input into operational matters was not as valued and rarely taken into consideration. Which is ok. At least I was able to return to work.

A short time later I didn't just burn a bridge in a relationship, I blew that fucker up. That was the day I decided that I needed to quit drinking. I wasn't "normal". I didn't know how to be. It was hard. Harder than the first time I had done it 12 years prior. I was broken and damaged. Going through a break up. Feeling betrayed by someone who I cared about, and someone who claimed to be my friend. At that time that had been the most challenging time in my life. I didn't want to live, but my crazy head had me thinking,"what kind of person are you going to be when you get through this?" The answer that came through was ,"Better."

The hardest part of the break up had past, the obsession, to drink/use was gone that first day, and not wanting to live slowly turned into an excitement for life, and gratitude towards the people who had been there for me, who had always been there for me, I owed it to them and to myself to succeed.

Being that I was in a financial crisis from the previous few months I ended up taking in a roommate to help make ends meet. This turned out to be another very trying time this last year. I'm not going to go into all the details here, but needless to say she left me in a worse scenario than what I was in before she moved in, and I believe she is still wanted on fraud charges...I was lied to and betrayed again. I wasn't sure what I had done to deserve this, but really felt as if I couldn't trust anyone anymore, and really didn't want to. After what I had gone through the last couple months.

So after the roommate disappeared, my ex girlfriend who I felt I had ruined any chances of repairing a relationship with came back. I was doing positive things in my life and positive things were starting to happen. Within a week she went back to the guy she originally left me for with no real explanation. Just found my house key and my old iPhone sitting on the counter. Came around just long enough to spin me around upside down and leave me wondering why I even try to let people in.

With my worsened financial crisis looming I decided to take a second job. This was probably the most productive time in the last year for me. I was able to keep my house and car from going into foreclosure, pay off a pile of bills that had accumulated, and even put some money into a few investments for my future. During this time I gained a new found respect for what I was capable of doing when put to a test to overcome.

Working two jobs and averaging about 70 hours a week with about one day off every three weeks took its toll after about 5 months. I needed a break. And besides, I had started seeing someone who I was pretty much in love with, and wanted to be able to spend more time with them. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. It hurt. It had me again questioning why I even try. Brought up all those old trust issues again. But it takes two. One person can't be in love with he other and expect it to work. One person can't lose his mind and the other to want anything to do with him.

I was also able to quit smoking after 15 years. I was up to two packs a day, and I'm not sure, but with what I was going through at the time, but I think it may have been the single most difficult thing I have ever done. Physically, emotionally, spiritually, psychologically. A lot of things were affected by my decision to quit...

So here's to another eventful year that has me thinking, "what will this next year have me be?"

"Better."

Be the change you want in the world...

If you are having a rough go at it, a bad day, week, year, or even a bad life. You can change it. You can change it right now, today! Your world is what you make of it. I promise you that if you repeat these things to yourself before you go to bed, and when you wake up, your life will change! Better yet, record yourself saying these things and listen to it when you fall asleep...Listen to it WHILE you are sleeping. Let your subconscious take hold and just see what happens! See if there isn't a little spring in your step within the next few days. See if you don't start seeing things a little different. Maybe you start smiling more. Maybe you start feeling better about yourself...Maybe it will change your life! It has mine, and I just want to pass it on!:)

I easily attract love into my life

I am open to love

I radiate love and joy to all I meet.

I am happy about my life today

My circumstances are improving everyday

I effortlessly reach my goals

Why God? Why now?

Why not God, and it's never too late. I must rely heavily on this energy we call God. Is it safe to say that God is love? Yes? Well, with today being valentines day and all, and the person I'm in love with will not be my friend anymore because, she had decided to not be friends with her exes anymore. I am sure my many mistakes have also played a key factor, too. I have to respect her wishes to not see me, and at this point; even talk to me.

I'm at a place in my life where I've had a lot of bad things happen to me and am just starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. At my lowest point I never thought my best friend would walk out on me, but she did, and I deserved it.

I have to find some other way to repay the love she gave me when I was too stupid to see it right in front of my face. And when I say "repay" I don't mean stalker her or anything like that. I will let her be. Let her have what I couldn't give at the time. She deserves it. But since I have this love inside of me for someone I can't give it to, I feel it necessary to try and share as much love with as many people as I can, and only then will I begin to repay the love that was given to me...
